Administrative Assistant 1 – Overview
Support the daily operations of the Office of Drug and Alcohol Programs in Lackawanna and Susquehanna Counties. This role ensures smooth program delivery by handling communication, organizing information, and assisting staff with key tasks.
Responsibilities- Invoice processing: maintain invoices, prepare payments, and submit financial information to the Treasurer’s Office.
- Mail handling: receive incoming mail and distribute items to the appropriate staff members.
- Office supplies: track inventory and purchase needed supplies using approved methods.
- Training support: submit training requests, maintain course lists, and assist with annual planning.
- Report preparation: generate WITS reports and assist with prevention plan data evaluations.
- Project coordination: assist with contracts, agreements, special projects, and communication with providers and school districts.
- Full‑time employment.
- Hours:
8:30 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday – Friday, with a 30‑minute lunch. - No telework option.
- Salary may be non‑negotiable in some cases.
- Graduation from a four‑year college or university, or equivalent combination of experience and training. Candidates within 3 months of graduation with a qualifying degree are considered eligible.
- Must meet Pennsylvania residency requirement.
- Preference given to candidates residing within Lackawanna or Susquehanna Counties.
- Ability to perform essential job functions.
- Pass a background investigation and drug screening.
- Position falls under Child Protective Services Law, requiring satisfactory criminal history report, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
- Pennsylvania law provides employment preference for qualified veterans for many state and local government jobs.
- 711 required for hearing and speech disabilities or other individuals.
