ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS, PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES AND OBJECTIVES:
As the first-person contact in the Student Financial Services Office, the Administrative Assistant has a general understanding of the Student Financial Services department in order to answer, assist or evaluate routine financial aid and cost of attendance inquiries so that excellent customer service is provided to students, families, prospective students and visitors. This position provides clerical and administrative support to the Director of the Student Financial Services and the staff of the Office of Student Financial Services.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
* Greet current students/families, prospective students and visitors in a diplomatic manner and establishes the nature of their visit.
* Provides direction and assistance by asking questions and gathering information in order to best serve the needs of students and families.
* Manages all incoming call, email, calendars for the department.
* Provides excellent telephonic customer service by assessing the nature of the callers' inquiry and directing calls to appropriate departmental personnel. Takes messages and delivers to appropriate department personnel in a timely manner.
* Creates and maintains proper organization of physical and electronic student files and financial aid documents.
* Perform clerical functions, including typing, filing, mailings, etc.
* Process cash, checks, credit and debit cards payment transactions for tuition, fees and other miscellaneous charges on student accounts.
* Prepares daily deposits in conjunction with accounts payable standards of compliance.
* Oversees Transact cashiering as directed by the Associate Director of Student Financial Services and Student Financial Service Billing and Accounts Specialist.
* Tracks and maintains department engagements/priorities on the department calendar.
* Updates student information such as address changes.
* Manges all requestions, Orders, purchases, travel and monitors office supplies as needed.
* Assists with projects as directed and required by the Executive Director of Student Financial Services and Associate Director of Operations of Student Financial Services.
* Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION:
* Associate Degree in Business or related field preferred
EXPERIENCE:
* Previous office management experience preferred.
* Strong computer/internet skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint at a minimum
