THE POSITION
Located in Honesdale, PA, the Wayne County Area Agency on Aging Transportation Department is seeking qualified applicants interested in expanding their administrative skills in a professional public service environment. DESCRIPTION OF WORKAs a Clerk 2, you will be one of the first people our community members meet, helping them feel welcome and representing Wayne County Transportation Services (AAA) in a positive way. This position supports transportation services by managing consumer intake, maintaining records, and assisting with routing and reservation tasks. Your work helps ensure older adults receive safe, reliable, and well‑coordinated transportation.
- Consumer Intake:
Complete forms, update records, and determine eligibility for transportation services - Reservation Support:
Take reservations, enter trip details, and update information in the computer system - Record Maintenance:
Organize consumer files, review documentation, and keep information accurate and complete - Trip Coordination:
Enter and verify geo‑codes, note special trip needs, and support adjustments for scheduling - Reimbursement Review:
Check mileage, review self‑transport requests, and verify totals for accuracy - Operational Assistance:
Provide information, assist supervisors, and support daily transportation tasks
- Full‑time employment
- Work hours vary from 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM, with a 30‑minute lunch. Work schedule includes irregular, evening, and weekend hours.
- Occasional travel in and out of the county for meetings may be required.
- Telework:
No telework option in this position. - Salary:
In some cases, the starting salary may be non‑negotiable.
- Minimum Experience and Training Requirements
- Six months as a Clerk 1 and educational development to the level of the eighth grade; or
- Completion of a high school business curriculum; or
- Any equivalent experience and/or training which provided the required knowledge and abilities.
- Other Requirements

- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
- Legal Requirements
- You must pass a background investigation.
- A conditional offer of employment will require a drug screening.
- This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
- Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
