Position Overview
The Ticket Booth Clerk works for the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources at Codorus State Park. The role involves assisting visitors, managing payments, and supporting key park services to ensure guests have a smooth and enjoyable experience in a busy, welcoming environment.
Description of WorkThis position supports the daily operations of Codorus State Park by managing pool ticket sales and providing clerical assistance across multiple park functions. The Clerk will play a key role in visitor service, accurate record‑keeping, and the smooth operation of park facilities.
- Payment Handling – Take payments from visitors and follow established money‑handling procedures.
- Record Keeping – Maintain accurate forms, receipts, records, and daily reports for ticket booth operations.
- Visitor Assistance – Provide park information, answer questions, and help direct the public at various park stations.
- Reservation Processing – Use the Computerized Reservation System to process bookings, issue permits, and manage fees.
- Clerical Support – Help with mail processing, file organization, and general administrative tasks for park operations.
- Communication Tasks – Operate phones, radios, and office equipment to relay information and assist staff.
This is a seasonal, full‑time position with no healthcare benefits. The season runs from approximately May 2026 until September 2026, after which the employee will be placed on leave without pay. The employee will automatically be returned to employment around May 2027.
Work schedule varies within a 37.5‑hour work week in a 7‑day operation:
- Typical shift: 10:30 AM to 6:30 PM, with a 30‑minute unpaid lunch.
- Requires work on weekends, holidays, and any assigned shift.
Telework is not available for this position.
