Operations Manager
The Facility Operations Manager 2 with the Department of Human Services offers a chance to lead work that strengthens the efficiency and reliability of youth treatment facilities across several locations. This role helps guide facility projects, maintenance programs, and daily operational needs across multiple youth facilities. The work supports safe environments and helps ensure that buildings, equipment, and maintenance programs run the way they should. As a Facility Operations Manager 2, you will perform the following duties:
- Project Support: Coordinate construction and renovation work by working with staff, architects, engineers, and contractors
- Maintenance Oversight: Help guide preventive maintenance efforts and assist in training maintenance staff on proper procedures
- Facility Coordination: Meet with facility leaders to review needs and assist with planning, budgeting, and reporting
- Code Compliance: Inspect buildings for safety issues and prepare updates or reports concerning deficiencies
- Resource Management: Plan in‑house projects, check material needs, and monitor energy use to support efficient operations
- Operational Support: Assist with material and stock levels, recycling efforts, fleet management, and scrap disposal to help keep facilities running smoothly

Work Schedule and Additional Information- Full‑time employment, 37.5 hours per week
- Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday – Friday, with a 30‑minute lunch

- Two years experience as a Facility Operations Manager 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
- Three years of experience as a Building Maintenance Foreman (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
- Five years of experience performing skilled trades work in commercial or industrial buildings which includes three years of supervisory experience overseeing skilled trades work in commercial or industrial buildings, or utility plant operations.
- You must be in possession of an active motor vehicle license.

- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
- You must pass a background investigation.
- A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination.
- This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
- Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
