THE POSITION
The Corrections Facility Maintenance Manager 1 position with the Department of Corrections offers a strong leadership role that supports efficient facility operations. In this role, you guide maintenance staff as they complete important repair and construction tasks that keep the institution running smoothly. DESCRIPTIONOF WORK
This role supports daily maintenance operations by guiding staff, coordinating work, and ensuring efficient facility functions. As a Corrections Facility Maintenance Manager 1, you will perform the following duties:
- Daily Operations:
Plan work schedules, assign tasks, and coordinate maintenance activities across the facility - Staff Oversight:
Supervise maintenance and trades staff and provide guidance, training, and feedback - Project Review:
Evaluate assignment details, inspect completed tasks, and ensure compliance with safety standards - Resource Management:
Control tools, materials, and equipment while maintaining accurate inventory records - Reporting Duties:
Prepare required reports and maintain personnel, budget, and operational records - Emergency Response:
Responds appropriately to emergencies after hours
- Full‑time employment, 40 hours per week
- Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday – Friday.

- Two years of experience as a Building Maintenance Foreman, Utility Plant Supervisor, or Corrections Tradesman Instructor (Commonwealth job titles or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration) with a specialty in one of the trades of Carpentry, Electrical, Refrigeration, Plumbing, Sheet Metal, Machinist, Welding, Painting, Automotive, Electronics, or Masonry; or
- Six years of experience in the construction, maintenance or repair of buildings; or the operation, maintenance and repair of utility services equipment, including two years in a managerial or supervisory capacity; or
- Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
- Successful completion of Basic Training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.

- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
- You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
