The Bethlehem City Housing Authority is looking for a motivated Clerk Typist 2 who is able to read, write, and speak in Spanish and ready to support a busy maintenance team. This role offers a chance to help residents receive the services they need while keeping daily operations running smoothly. You will join a group that values accessibility, accuracy, teamwork, and clear communication.
Responsibilities- Phone Support: Respond to incoming tenant calls about maintenance orders and provide follow up in both English and Spanish.
- Work Order Help: Distribute maintenance work orders to staff.
- Record Keeping: Track daily attendance and leave for maintenance employees.
- Payroll Assistance: Support payroll tasks and requisition processing.
- Correspondence Prep: Type letters and other written materials as needed in both English and Spanish.
- Scheduling Tasks: Maintain schedules for pet control and related records.
- Full‑time employment.
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday–Friday, with a 30‑minute lunch break.
- No telework option for this position.
- In some cases, the starting salary may be non‑negotiable.
- Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Six months as a Clerk Typist 1 and educational development to the level of eighth grade; or
- Completion of a high‑school business curriculum which included at least one typing course; or
- Any combination of equivalent experience and training.
- This position requires the selected candidate to be able to read, write, and speak in Spanish. Spanish speaking proficiency may be evaluated.
- You must meet Pennsylvania residency requirements. Hiring preference may be given to candidates living in Lehigh or Northampton counties.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
