This position provides vital dental services to inmates at SCI Smithfield and supports their overall health needs. As a Dentist, you will perform the following duties:
- Clinical Care:
Deliver routine dental treatments and preventive services - Patient Evaluation:
Assess oral health conditions and recommend appropriate care - Team
Collaboration:
Work alongside trained auxiliary staff to support patient needs - Record Management:
Maintain accurate documentation of dental evaluations and procedures - Professional Standards:
Follow clinical guidelines and uphold ethical dental practices
- Part‑time employment, up to 30 hours per week
- No weekend work required
- Eligible for full retirement benefits as early as age 55
- Eligibility for Public Service Loan Forgiveness
- No telework option
- Hourly rate: starting at $84.94 (before taxes) for new employees
- Graduation from an approved school of dentistry.
- Applicants considered to have met the educational requirement within 3 months of graduating with a qualifying degree.
- Must possess a license to practice dentistry issued by the Pennsylvania State Board of Dentistry.
- Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.
- PA residency requirement is currently waived.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
- Must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
- Pennsylvania law (51 Pa. C.S. 7103) provides employment preference for qualified veterans.
