The University of Scranton Department of Biology invites applications for a tenure-track position of Assistant Professor in Biology beginning in August 2026. Essential Duties The successful candidate will be expected to teach physiology and cellular biology from an integrative perspective, and to develop a sustainable research program in a subdiscipline of physiology commensurate with their area of expertise. Expertise could include, but is not limited to, research in biochemistry, bioinformatics, biotechnology, cellular biology, genetics, ecology, epidemiology, evolution, or molecular biology.
The successful applicant will contribute to teaching lectures and labs in General Physiology (BIOL-245 and BIOL-245L) and Cellular Biology (BIOL-350 and BIOL-350L). The successful applicant will also contribute to teaching in our Physiology program. Applicants may also contribute to the Biology Department's courses in the Biology and Biochemistry, Cell, and Molecular Biology (BCMB), Neuroscience, or Environmental Science programs. Faculty will be encouraged to develop upper-level courses in their areas of specialization.
