Department Physical Therapy Job Purpose

The University of Scranton's Leahy College of Health Sciences (LCHS) is accepting applications for an open rank, tenure track faculty position in the Department of Physical Therapy. This full time, 9-month position will begin in Fall 2026 and involves teaching, service, and scholarship responsibilities. Primary teaching opportunities include pediatric, therapeutic exercise, and clinical management courses with collaboration on curricular assessment. Rank and salary are commensurate with experience and qualifications.

There will be an opportunity for expedited tenure-track status for those demonstrating a record of scholarly achievement.

The University of Scranton's Physical Therapy curriculum is an intensive three-year (9-semester) program, including summer clinical experiences, which leads to an entry-level Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree. The Department of Physical Therapy is currently comprised of nine highly motivated core faculty members engaged in a variety of clinical, service, and scholarly activities with a common goal of providing a positive educational experience for our students.

The Department is located in a $47.5 million, state of the art academic building with interactive rehabilitation laboratories, flexible teaching spaces, and specialized research facilities. Service engagement includes community-based learning (CBL) and operation of a student-run pro bono PT clinic to meet the needs of the uninsured and underserved residents of our local community. Additionally, programs and activities are available on campus to mentor faculty in pedagogy and scholarship.
