Job DescriptionNew Hope-Solebury School District is seeking applicants for an Instructional Assistant to provide support for students with IEPs at the Upper Elementary School.
Responsibilities- Participate in daily and long-range planning and communication with the teachers.
- Provide support to student instructionally and behaviorally in a small group or individually.
- Administer assessments and collect data when needed.
- Supervision of students as necessary.
- Work with assigned student to supervise in lunch and other non-instructional time.
- Maintain individual and collective record keeping for assigned student.
- Provide all necessary supports, adaptations, and modifications for students with disabilities as assigned such as but not limited to toileting, assistance with student’s menses care, personal grooming, daily self‑help tasks, transfers to and from wheelchairs, support for participation in general and special education classrooms.
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree (required).
- Proven experience working with secondary-level students (essential).
- Ability to work effectively and empathetically with students across various developmental stages (K-12).
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to maintain professional confidentiality.
- Physical ability to assist with student mobility and personal care tasks as outlined in student IEPs.
Current and valid Pennsylvania state-mandated clearances (Act 34, Act 151, and Act 114) and all required District certifications.
