Position: Middle School World Language Teacher, Fall 2026

Gerald Huesken Middle School is seeking an engaging and dynamic World Language Teacher to develop and lead a 7th–8th-grade exploratory language program. This position focuses on building foundational language skills while introducing students to German and Spanish languages and cultures. The ideal candidate will foster curiosity, cultural awareness, and confidence in early language learners through interactive and student-centered instruction.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach introductory course to middle school students (grades 7–8)
  • Emphasize language basics
    , including:
    • Common vocabulary and phrases
    • Basic grammar structures
    • Listening and speaking skills
    • Introductory reading and writing
  • Integrate cultural exploration into lessons, including traditions, geography, food, and daily life in German- and Spanish-speaking countries
  • Create engaging, age-appropriate, and interactive lessons that promote student participation
  • Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of middle school learners
  • Use a variety of instructional strategies, including games, technology, music, and collaborative activities
  • Assess student progress and provide timely, constructive feedback
  • Collaborate with colleagues to support interdisciplinary connections and school initiatives
  • Maintain a positive, inclusive classroom environment that encourages risk‑taking and language exploration
