Job Description

Do you bring out the star in your students? Taylor Robinson Music's motto is Learn to Play From the Heart. We look for private music instructors, especially for Voice, who share this philosophy and are eager to make music lessons accessible and affordable.

We do not have a brick‑and‑mortar studio; lessons occur at students' homes, the instructor’s home or studio, or via webcam. Most students prefer in‑person lessons, so local instructors who can host students or travel within the Mechanicsburg, PA area are required.

Payment is on an independent contractor basis, ranging from $20–$30 per hour, depending on travel time, your experience/education, and your student retention rate. You have the freedom to set your own schedule, curriculum, and lesson plans. Marketing, advertising, SEO, and billing are handled by Taylor Robinson Music, allowing you to focus on teaching.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver high‑quality, engaging music lessons to students of various ages and skill levels.
  • Prepare and maintain curriculum and lesson plans tailored to individual student goals.
  • Maintain consistent, punctual attendance for all scheduled lessons.
  • Communicate effectively with the office and students, ensuring timely updates and feedback.
  • Travel to students’ homes or bring students to an instructor’s approved location when required.
  • Follow COVID‑19 safety protocols: wear a mask, sanitize hands, and practice social distancing where applicable.
  • Assist with student retention and progress monitoring, contributing to overall student satisfaction.
Qualifications
  • Formal music training is not mandatory.
  • Must have at least one of the following:
    • A degree in music or enrollment in a music program.
    • Professional performing experience.
    • Previous teaching experience.
Benefits
  • Independent contractor status with flexible scheduling.
  • Marketing, advertising, SEO, and billing support provided.
  • Potential for ongoing student local and remote assignments.
