This position supports inmate learning through classroom instruction and supervised work experience in the vocational field of barbering. The role ensures safe, organized operations and maintains training standards. As a Corrections Licensed Barber Manager, you will perform the following duties:
- Training and Instruction: Provide classroom and hands‑on guidance in barbering practices, methods and techniques
- Classroom Management: Maintain order and discipline during instruction and work assignments
- Program Administration: Plan, develop and manage the barber training program in accordance with state guidelines
- Licensing Support: Arrange testing opportunities for eligible inmates through the State Board of Barber Examiners
- Supply Management: Determine needed tools and supplies and submit purchase requests
- Tool Accountability: Issue, inventory and account for all materials and tools, as well as conduct searches to ensure proper control

Work Schedule and Additional Information- Full‑time employment, 40 hours per week
- Work hours are 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday–Friday
- This position is eligible for full retirement benefits at age 50 or 55
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position
- Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non‑negotiable

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Two years of professional experience as a barber
Special Requirements:
- All positions require possession of an active Barber Manager License issued by the Pennsylvania State Board of Barber Examiners
Other Requirements:
- Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required

- You must be able to perform essential job functions

- You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements
