Itinerant Teacher – Early Intervention (Early Childhood)

Location:
Montgomery County Intermediate Unit #23 – Norristown, PA (serving children throughout Montgomery County).
- Valid PA certification in Special Education PK‑12, PK‑8, or N‑12 required
. - Additional PA certification in Early Childhood PK‑4 preferred.
- Experience working with younger special‑needs students.
- Current police, child abuse and FBI fingerprint clearances required
. - Valid driver’s license and ability to travel throughout Montgomery County, PA.
- Clearance as an MA provider by the Commonwealth of PA and federal government (conducted by MCIU upon hire).
- Deliver direct and indirect services to EI students.
- Collaborate and communicate with educational partners regarding specialized instruction.
- Develop, revise, implement and monitor student progress on IEP goals.
- Provide case management for students identified with developmental delays requiring services.
- Facilitate IEP meetings and update revisions to IEPs.
- Write progress notes and contribute to re‑evaluation reports.
- Finalize, revise and forward IEPs to families within timelines.
- Complete weekly schedules and student updates via Itinerant Time Tracker (ITT).
- Attend monthly staff meetings and “I” day activities as determined by the EI calendar.
The position requires travel throughout the Western Region (Methacton School District, Perkiomen Valley School District, Pottsgrove School District, Pottstown School District and Spring‑Ford School District).
Work ScheduleMonday‑Friday, 7.5 hours/day, 12‑month contract (194 days/year).
SalaryBachelor’s, Step 1: $53,997/year
Master’s, Step 1: $65,007/year
Placement on salary schedule is based on experience and/or education beyond the Master’s degree.
