School Psychologist
The school psychologist will work with K-12 students and school professionals to diagnose and recommend interventions to assist students with learning and social-emotional needs. The school psychologist works with other school professionals as advocates for students' well-being, and as valuable resources for the students' educational and personal advancement.
Qualifications- Valid Pennsylvania School Psychologist Certificate
- Bilingual (Spanish) candidate is highly preferred
- Possess strong computer technology skills (strongly preferred)
- Knowledge of methods of assessment; systematic processes to collect data, translate assessment results into empirically based decisions about service delivery and evaluate outcomes of services
- Knowledge of learning processes, appropriate instructional interventions to meet students' needs, and the ability to implement and assess their effectiveness
- Knowledge of behavioral mental health, collaborative and/or consultation models and methods and their application
- Conduct psychological assessments and interpret results for students and participate in IEP conferences, team meetings, and problem-solving meetings.
- Administers and interprets psychological assessments for the purpose of 504 and special education identification, placement and intervention implementation
- Consults with educators, families, school staff, administrators and community providers regarding the academic, social, emotional and behavioral needs of students
- Works with educators to identify, implement and monitor evidence-based academic and behavior interventions to address the needs of students
- Guides school teams through the functional behavioral assessment process to develop behavior intervention plan
- Provides individual and group counseling as appropriate
- Delivers workshops to students, families, educators and community members
- Serves on office, department and/or systemic committee
- Assists with the implementation of initiatives to create safe and supportive learning environment
- Connects families with community agencies that provide services to students
- Participates on collaborative teams such as Social Emotional Learning (SEL), Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS), Individualized Education Program (IEP) and Section 504 teams to address individual, group and school wide needs
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Ability to reach above and below the waist.
- Ability to use fingers to pick, feel and grasp objects.
- Some stooping, bending and twisting of the body required.
- Ability to lift and/or carry supplies and/or papers weighing no more than 20 lbs.
- Ability to sit, stand, walk or move throughout the building and/or office, often for extended periods of the workday.
- Visual acuity.
- Auditory acuity.
- Typical office environment.
- Subject to inside environmental conditions.
- Must possess excellent interpersonal skills.
- Must be able to work in an environment with frequent interruptions.

- Ability to exercise good judgment.
- Salary and work year to be established per the collective bargaining agreement.
