Fleisher Art Memorial is seeking a dynamic and passionate Manager of Children and Youth Education to lead the planning, implementation, and growth of Fleisher's onsite youth arts education programs. This role calls for a creative leader who is enthusiastic about arts education and dedicated to building an inclusive, fun, and supportive environment for students ages 5 to 19. Reporting to the Director of Education and working in close collaboration with the Education team, the Manager oversees Fleisher's youth education programs, including the Young Artist Program, Teen Lounge, Summer Camp, youth workshops, and other organizational initiatives that advance Fleisher's mission of access.

The Manager develops and is accountable for an annual program budget, recruits, hires, evaluates, and manages faculty, supports them as they design curricula and teach art courses, and develops outreach strategies to grow participation and ensure a positive, rewarding experience for students and families itional duties include program research, attendance at board and staff meetings, and other duties as assigned.

Program

Design, Planning & Evaluation
  • Plan Fall, Winter, and Spring terms for the Young Artist Program, considering class sizes, room availability, and feedback from facilities staff, faculty, and students.
  • Plan the Summer Camp and Summer Teen workshops, including staffing, budget, and class descriptions, taking into account past programming successes, student and faculty feedback, and room availability.
  • Develop, implement, and guide all facets of Teen Lounge (September–June).
  • Schedule all Teen Lounge workshops and support visiting teaching artists by coordinating facilities scheduling and securing supplies for workshop days.
  • Collaborate with the Manager of Community Partnerships in the Arts on outreach and improve and administer priority registration with a focus on access.
  • Oversee documentation and evaluation of programs in collaboration with the Development team.
  • Collaborate with the Education team and other departments to advance Fleisher's mission and find creative ways to serve a diverse public audience.
Faculty Management & Professional Development
  • Recruit, hire, train, evaluate, and supervise program support staff.
  • Schedule and document annual evaluations and make recommendations for staffing improvements.
  • Support faculty as they design curricula and deliver art instruction.
Administrative & Operational Oversight
  • Develop the annual program budget in partnership with the Director of Education.
  • Work with the Program Operations Manager to oversee the ordering of supplies for individual classes and program-wide needs.
  • Support the Registrar with planning and executing registration for upcoming terms, including updating forms, merging attendance data, and distributing information to students.
  • Coordinate the collection of student information for Summer Camp and youth workshops; disseminate information as needed to faculty and staff; and manage communications between families and Fleisher.
  • Conduct program research, attend board and staff meetings as needed, and perform other duties as assigned.
Community Engagement & Relationship Management
  • Serve as one of the public faces of Fleisher's education programs, serving as the key point of contact for families exploring youth arts education opportunities at Fleisher.
  • Develop outreach strategies to increase participation in youth programs.
Required Qualifications
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in arts administration, art education, child development, or a related field.
  • At least 2 years of work experience with youth in an in-school and/or out-of-school arts education setting, including curriculum and lesson plan development.
  • Demonstrated small- and large-scale project development and management experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Additional language skills are a plus. Approximately 50% of Fleisher's Children and Youth students and families speak Spanish, Cantonese, or Mandarin Chinese.
