Propel seeks passionate individuals committed to providing students with exceptional experiences to serve as After school Artists at all of our schools. All positions are contingent on enrollment and need.

Important Dates

  • First Day of After school:
    Tuesday, September 8, 2026
  • Last Day Before Winter Break:
    Thursday, December 17, 2026
  • Programs Resume:
    Monday, January 11, 2027
  • Last Day of After school:
    Thursday, May 20, 2027

Program Schedule

  • Monday–Thursday
  • Approximately 3:30–6:00 p.m. (times may vary slightly by school)
  • No program on Fridays, flex days, school holidays, or school closures

At Propel After school, every minute matters. We are looking for team members who are committed to creating engaging, meaningful experiences for scholars from the moment they arrive until they are dismissed.

Successful Staff Members

  • Build positive, respectful relationships with scholars, families, colleagues, and community partners.
  • Actively engage with scholars throughout the entire program by participating in activities, conversations, and learning experiences—not supervising from the sidelines.
  • Create a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment where every scholar feels a sense of belonging.
  • Support positive behavior through consistency, encouragement, and relationship building.
  • Demonstrate professionalism, reliability, flexibility, and a positive attitude each day.
  • Work collaboratively and willingly step in wherever support is needed to ensure the success of the program.
  • Communicate respectfully and professionally with scholars, families, school staff, and fellow team members.
  • Arrive prepared, on time, and ready to contribute to a high-quality after school experience.
  • Limit personal cell phone use during program hours and remain fully present and engaged with scholars, except when phones are required for program responsibilities or emergencies.
  • Model Propel's Habits by demonstrating responsibility, teamwork, kindness, perseverance, and integrity.

Artist/ Enrichment Instructor

What You'll Do

Artists create engaging, hands-on learning experiences that inspire scholars to explore new interests and discover their talents. We are looking for individuals who can make learning exciting through creativity, movement, exploration, and real-world experiences.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and facilitate engaging enrichment lessons in your area of expertise.
  • Adapt lessons for scholars with varying interests and abilities.
  • Encourage scholar participation through interactive, hands-on learning.
  • Build positive relationships with scholars while maintaining high expectations.
  • Collaborate with Site Coordinators and classroom staff to ensure successful programming.
  • Arrive prepared with materials and lesson plans.
  • Maintain a safe, organized, and inclusive learning environment.
  • Communicate any supply or scheduling needs in advance.
  • Be flexible and adjust lessons based on scholar needs and program schedules.
  • Attend all artist meetings, prepare and participate in the end of the year After school showcase.
