Allied Resources is looking for a Lead Distribution Designer for an exciting full-time opportunity with a utility design firm supporting electric distribution projects in the Greater Philadelphia region.

Job Responsibilities
  • Lead the design and development of overhead and underground electric distribution systems for residential and commercial projects.
  • Perform detailed design calculations including structure loading, guying, conductor sag, and geometric analysis.
  • Develop construction-ready design packages for electric distribution projects ranging from 4kV to 34kV systems.
  • Conduct site visits and field data collection, including surveys, staking, and as-built verification.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, clients, property owners, and external stakeholders to ensure project success.
  • Interpret property boundaries, right-of-way requirements, and utility standards for accurate design implementation.
  • Utilize industry tools and methodologies to produce reliable and compliant distribution designs.
  • Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior designers and team members.
  • Manage workload independently, prioritizing tasks and meeting deadlines in a remote or hybrid environment.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required;
    Associate’s degree or CAD certification preferred.
  • Minimum of 3+ years of direct experience in electric distribution design (flexibility for strong candidates).
  • Experience with single-phase and three-phase systems, including overhead (OH) and underground residential distribution (URD).
  • Knowledge of CTag poles, general office (GO) designs, reliability projects, and solar farm interconnections.
  • Proficiency in electric utility design standards and construction practices.
