Job Position Overview
The Health Safety and Environment (HSE) Permit Writer develops and maintains safe work permits within the Tank Farm and Solvent Recovery (TFSR) area. The role interfaces with Process and Project teams to manage equipment availability and coordinate maintenance activities.
Responsibilities- Prepare and issue safe work permits, including LOTO, hot work, and confined space entry.
- Conduct risk assessments, develop safety plans, and audit live work permits.
- Generate work orders for corrective maintenance and coordinate maintenance activities within TFSR.
- Ensure adherence to project and maintenance schedules while maintaining compliance with safety regulations.
- Develop equipment‑specific lock‑out/tag‑out procedures and confined space risk assessments.
- Maintain permitting equipment, supplies, and audit‑ready status.
- Review and update Standard Operating Procedures and implement unplanned changes.
- Support Process Engineers, Maintenance, Projects, and Supervision in daily operations.
- Assist Operations Associate and Director with planning and scheduling daily work.
- Conduct continuous improvement projects aligned with safety, quality, and operational needs.
Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States and be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.
Education and Experience- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in a related industrial environment.
- Direct HSE permit execution experience is required.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Effective problem‑solving, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of cGMP practices, plant safety, and hazard identification.
- Basic computer skills with desktop software.
- Work schedule:
Monday‑Friday, 8hours per day with occasional overtime and on‑call duties. - Location:
Lebanon, Indiana (LP1). 10% travel.
- Base salary range: $33.89 – $49.71 per hour.
