An established global manufacturing organisation is seeking an experienced Global Electrical Discipline Lead to join its Engineering team. This is a high-impact technical leadership position responsible for setting electrical engineering standards, supporting major capital projects, and providing subject matter expertise across a global manufacturing network.
The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting electrical engineering activities across North America, Europe, Asia, and Mexico, ensuring safe, reliable, and compliant electrical systems while driving engineering excellence across the business.
Responsibilities- Act as the global owner of electrical engineering standards, specifications, and design requirements.
- Provide electrical engineering leadership and technical guidance for capital projects from concept through commissioning and start-up.
- Support hazardous area classification assessments and the development of compliant electrical system designs.
- Review and develop electrical equipment specifications, certification requirements, and factory acceptance testing protocols.
- Conduct and support power system assessments including load studies, arc flash studies, relay coordination, harmonic analysis, and reliability evaluations.
- Provide technical support for incident investigations involving electrical equipment and systems.
- Lead electrical engineering input for project cost estimates, scope development, and material take-offs.
- Support factory testing, field commissioning, start-up activities, and project peer reviews.
- Audit manufacturing facilities for electrical compliance, maintenance practices, and documentation standards.
- Develop and deliver training on electrical safety, safe work practices, and engineering best practices.
- Mentor engineering teams, site personnel, and external contractors across multiple regions.
- Evaluate emerging electrical technologies and recommend improvements to enhance reliability, safety, and performance.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
- 20+ years of electrical engineering experience supporting manufacturing facilities and capital projects.
- Strong experience within industrial manufacturing environments, with chemical manufacturing experience highly desirable.
- Extensive knowledge of global electrical codes and standards including NEC, NFPA, IEEE, OSHA, IEC, FM Global, UL, NETA, ANSI, and NEMA.
- Proven experience conducting electrical system studies, equipment specification, and power system assessments.
- Experience supporting large-scale capital projects from design through commissioning.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with international engineering teams, suppliers, and stakeholders.
- Strong communication and leadership skills with the ability to influence engineering best practice globally.
- Willingness to travel internationally and domestically up to 50% of the time.
- Competitive salary of $160,000 - $175,000.
