Overview
Auditors and financial oversight professionals are invited to apply for an Audit Specialist 2 position with the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency (PCCD). The role involves overseeing the financial management of assigned state and federal funding streams and monitoring subgrants within those sources.
Responsibilities- Ensure all funds are used in compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and program guidelines.
- Conduct in‑depth audits of PCCD grantees’ financial records to verify expenditures align with approved grant agreements.
- Perform desk and on‑site monitoring to evaluate the accuracy of submitted fiscal reports.
- Provide technical assistance related to fiscal reporting and required documentation.
- Review financial components of grant applications for completeness, identifying errors or deficiencies.
- Monitor subgrant administration by examining subgrantee expenditures to confirm costs are allowable and properly recorded.
- Evaluate project modification requests to ensure they are well‑justified and consistent with program requirements.
- Make judgments and recommendations based on observations gathered during audits and monitoring activities with minimal supervision.
- Minimum Experience:
- One year as an Audit Specialist 1 (or equivalent Commonwealth or federal title).
- Two years of professional auditing experience plus a bachelor’s degree with at least 18 credits in accounting and auditing.
- Any equivalent combination of experience and training that includes the required 18 credits.
- Other Requirements:
- Meet Pennsylvania residency requirement.
- Be able to perform essential job functions.
- Legal Requirements:
Pass a background investigation.
- Full‑time employment, 37.5 hours per week.
- Work hours:
8:00 AM–4:00 PM, Monday–Friday, with a 30‑minute lunch. - Telework may be available part‑time; requires a secure high‑speed internet connection and approved Pennsylvania location.
- Salary may be non‑negotiable in some cases.
