Position Overview
As a Fiscal Technician with the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation, the applicant supports the daily financial needs of District 11, ensuring accurate processing, monitoring and management of fiscal information.
Responsibilities- Realignment tasks: realign encumbrances, transactions, and adjustments between fiscal years.
- System processing: process invoices, payments and adjustments in SAP.
- Error resolution: correct electronic document issues and research coding errors.
- Account monitoring: monitor utility accounts, receivables, revenues and refunds.
- Purchasing support: assist personnel with requisitions, purchase orders and service contracts; provide backup support for purchasing functions.
- Quality assurance: review and audit purchasing card transactions; act as Access Online Administrator for coding accuracy.
- Full‑time employment.
- Work hours 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday‑Friday, with a 30‑minute lunch.
- Telework: up to three days per week after successful completion of probation period and approval of management; requires high‑speed internet and a Pennsylvania location.
- Salary: starting annual salary $45,907.00 for new employees within the Commonwealth.
- Minimum experience:
- One year as a Fiscal Assistant (commonwealth or equivalent federal title); or
- Three years of work involving maintenance of fiscal or financial records, with one year of responsible work applying accounting or fiscal principles and a high‑school graduation; or
- One year of experience maintaining and reviewing fiscal records and an associate degree in accounting or business administration; or
- Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
- Must meet Pennsylvania residency requirement.
- Must be able to perform essential job functions.
