As an Associate Portfolio Manager at Orion, you will assist higher‑level money management across multiple product lines, produce research reports, and develop communication materials for internal and external audiences.
Responsibilities- Assist in fund‑specific research to support portfolio management of core strategies and funds.
- Prepare reports and charts with economic data from Bloomberg and other sources, providing commentary for the portfolio management team and Investment Committee.
- Explore and implement attribution analysis methods and report attribution results for Orion core investment strategies.
- Contribute to performance projections and sector‑specific decision making to support investment policy deviations and benchmarking.
- Co‑manage money management of Advisor One Funds and sub‑advisory lines.
- Meet with the portfolio management team to present research and investment ideas.
- Monitor small fund families and coordinate with Orion’s major investment themes.
- Assist the lead portfolio manager in proposals, client calls, allocation decisions, and marketing piece creation.
- Develop strategies to exploit investment opportunities within identified secular trends.
- Propose investment mix and policy decisions, balancing risk and performance while aligning with client objectives.
- Create internal communications, daily commentary, and liaison correspondence with marketing and portfolio management.
- Produce client reviews with detailed performance analysis and strategy commentary.
- Prepare weekly external commentary, quarterly market reviews, and other external communications visible to advisors, clients, and partners.
- Present portfolio manager strategies and mutual funds to stakeholders.
Hybrid employee: at least three (3) days per week onsite at a listed Orion office. Candidates must be within commuting distance. Internal candidates aligned to an Orion office may receive priority.
Qualifications- Minimum three (3) years of experience in investment research or a related role.
- Prior experience within the financial services industry.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, or a related field.
- Strong stakeholder relationship management and cross‑level collaboration skills.
