In this position, you will oversee the daily operations of the institutional library in the librarian’s absence, ensuring a clean, safe, and welcoming environment that encourages reading and educational growth among inmates. Your responsibilities will include supervising inmate work crews, maintaining attendance and progress reports, responding to inquiries from inmates and institutional staff regarding library resources and services, and preparing daily inmate callout lists.
Additionally, you will manage inmate correspondence and process incoming and outgoing library mail. You will also support the librarian with training, scheduling, hiring, and, when necessary, terminating inmate library workers.

Work Schedule and Additional Information- Full-time employment, 37.5 hour‑work week
- Work hours are 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Sunday‒Thursday, with a 30‑minute lunch.
- This position is eligible for full retirement benefits at age 50 or 55.
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.

- Two years of clerical experience;
or - An equivalent combination of experience and training.
- Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.

- You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
