We are looking for a Fire Services Technical Advisor to support fire and emergency service teams across Pennsylvania. This role will guide programs that strengthen recruitment, training, and community readiness, helping departments build effective systems that protect the public.

Description of Work
  • Program Support:
    Assist with creating and updating documents, reports, and manuals for recruitment and retention efforts
  • Training Delivery:
    Develop and conduct specialized training programs and presentations for fire service personnel
  • Public

    Education:

    Provide information to officials, responders, and the public about fire service programs and initiatives
  • Data Management:
    Maintain program databases and recommend improvements to data collection methods
  • Research Analysis:
    Gather data, evaluate programs, and prepare reports that support improvements to fire service operations
  • Outreach Engagement:
    Attend meetings and represent the recruitment and retention program at events and conferences
Work Schedule and Additional Information
  • FREE on-site parking
  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours:

    8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch
  • Must be available to travel, work up to 12‑hour shifts, and work outside normal hours, including weekends and overnights, in case of emergencies, disasters, or training exercises
  • Telework:
    Opportunity to work from home part‑time after successful completion of the training period, provided a securely configured high‑speed internet connection is available at an approved location in Pennsylvania. Telework may change at any time.
  • Salary:
    New employees begin at a starting annual salary of $60,538 (before taxes)
Qualifications
  • One year of professional experience in planning, developing, coordinating, or promoting fire services, emergency management, or public safety programs, and a bachelor’s degree; or an equivalent combination of experience and training that includes one year of such professional experience
  • You must meet the Pennsylvania residency requirement
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions
