DescriptionOf Work
This position manages all financial and accounting operations for the Lackawanna County Housing Authority and serves as the chief financial officer. As a Comptroller, you will perform the following duties:
- Financial Oversight: Direct accounting and financial operations for the Authority
- Budget Preparation: Develop annual operating and capital budgets
- Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and yearly financial statements
- Regulation Compliance: Ensure alignment with HUD, PHFA, GAAP, and all applicable regulations
- Audit Coordination: Support annual independent audits and maintain strong internal controls
- Cash Management: Oversee banking activities and guide staff in financial and accounting work
Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Stable, full-time weekday employment
- Comprehensive benefits package
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.

Qualifications
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Four years of progressively responsible professional accounting experience including one year of supervisory experience and a bachelor's degree including or supplemented by fifteen college credits in accounting; or
- Any equivalent combination of accounting experience and training.
