DESCRIPTIONOF WORK
In this position, you will maintain the medical records for SCI Coal Township. Your work will involve organizing and monitoring the health record system, coding the records with the appropriate actions, and ensuring records are maintained according to policies and regulations. You will file and issue health care records, as well as prepare and transfer records for inmates being paroled or transferred.
Some of your duties will also include presenting medical records in court cases and reviewing records for completeness and accuracy. Additionally, you will prepare periodic statistical reports and records for management review.

Work Schedule and Additional Information- Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.

Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $45,907.00 (before taxes). - You will receive further communication regarding this position via email. Special Requirements
- You must be in possession of a valid Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) certificate or a Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) certificate issued by the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA), or be eligible for certification including completion of an AHIMA approved RHIT or RHIA Health Information Management education program.
- Employees who meet the Necessary Special Requirement based on the eligibility option for the RHIT or RHIA certification must obtain one of these certifications within 12 months of employment.
- Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.
- PA residency requirement is currently waived for this title.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
- You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
