Per Diem Xray Tech
The Radiology Technologist performs x‑ray scans of a patient's internal anatomy to aid physicians in diagnosing illnesses, diseases, or injuries. They execute radiologic services in compliance with relevant laws and regulations and provide consultation advice to patients and radiology professionals. The technologist delivers patient care and education before, during and after diagnostic imaging procedures.
Responsibilities- Interact with co‑workers, visitors, and other staff in a manner consistent with the values of Jefferson.
- Appropriately position radiographic equipment or x‑ray film to produce images with necessary detail or contrast to assist with diagnosis and treatment.
- Explain radiographic procedures to patients and obtain complete and accurate history relevant to the examination being performed.
- Communicate effectively with patients.
- Provide staff and patient protection in accordance with prescribed radiation safety standards, including placement of shields/aprons to limit exposure.
- Implement and monitor local, state, and national regulations, standards, requirements, and clinical protocols for radiologic imaging services.
- Maintain x‑ray equipment by performing scheduled cleaning and tests and document results.
- Maintain and update patient and study information to ensure billing and RIS/PACS accuracy; handle patient records while maintaining confidentiality.
- Perform other related technologist duties as directed by the lead technologist, supervisor, or manager, including those related to quality assurance and/or control.
- Maintain continuing education required for licenses and job positions.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Graduate of an approved American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) program or current validated ARRT registry in Radiology Technology (R). ARRT (R) or (CT) preferred.
- Knowledge of RIS systems.
- Knowledge of PAC’s systems.
- BLS required.
- License as required by state.
- Work shift:
Workday, Day.
