Emergency Room Technician I - Days​/Evenings

Job Summary

Geisinger offers an Emergency Room Technician I position at the Geisinger Wyoming Valley campus. The role is full‑time, six‑day week, 36 hours per week, days shift. The hiring rate starts at $15.76 per hour with additional shift differentials and a $1,500 sign‑on bonus. Candidates must meet the required educational and certification standards.

• Perform basic patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse and maintain the unit environment in line with policies and procedures.
• Triage patient care by identifying, observing and documenting physical needs of patients and families; report changes in condition to RN.
• Assist with wound care, splinting, EKGs, blood glucose monitoring, urine, stool, sputum, and other laboratory testing.
• Transport patients to and from the department, pharmacy, Blood Bank, and other areas of the hospital; transport medications and blood products.
• Assist patients with daily activities such as undressing, dressing, lifting and positioning during procedures.
• Provide unit desk clerk functions when required and coordinate relations between care providers, patients, and visitors.
• Provide patient‑centered care in a caring and healing environment; promote teamwork and collaboration across the care team.

• Full‑time, 36 hours per week; 3–12 hour shifts 7:00am–7:30pm; every other weekend and holiday rotation required.
• High School Diploma or GED (required).
• Basic Life Support certification within 6 months of hire.
