Job Duties
Ensures correct order is obtained, patient is properly identified and prepared for exam, and that clinical history is corroborated and appropriately documented while respecting confidentiality.
Utilizes appropriate imaging protocol and optimizes technical factors while maximizing patient safety, optimizing patient care, and applying principles of ALARA (As Low As Reasonably Achievable).
Preparing and/or administering, as applicable, medications through new or existing vascular access site as prescribed by a licensed practitioner.
Evaluates images for proper positioning and acceptable technical quality and verifies archival storage and/or transfer of data, post processing of data if applicable.
Educating and monitoring students and other health care providers.
Applying principles of magnetic resonance safety to minimize risk to patient, self, and others.
Assisting the licensed practitioner with magnetic resonance interventional procedures.
Performing magnetic resonance imaging procedures as prescribed by a licensed practitioner.
Selecting appropriate pulse sequences with consideration given to established protocols and other factors influencing data acquisition parameters.
Demonstrates commitment to department and organizational priorities. Fully proficient in all assigned routine and complex job duties. Participates in modality quality or process improvement activities.
CertificationsCertification by the American Registry of Radiology Technologist (ARRT) and (ARRT)-MR OR American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (ARMRIT) or primary ARRT-MR certification by the Nuclear Medicine Technologist Certification Board (NMTCB) and (ARRT)-MR certification by the Nuclear Medicine Technologist Certification Board (NMTCB) and ARMRIT.
EducationGraduate from Specialty Training Program‑Radiologic Technology (Required), Bachelor's Degree‑Related Field of Study (Preferred).
ExperienceMinimum of 2 years‑Related work experience (Required).
Licenses & Certifications- Basic Life Support Certification – Default Issuing Body
- Certified MRI Technologist – American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (ARMRIT)
- Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT) – Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB)
- Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologist RT(R)(MR) – American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
- Radiography (R) – American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
