The position is an onsite role at Tower – St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children in Philadelphia, PA. This position offers hourly pay between $17.00 - $18.15 based on experience.

Job Responsibilities
  • Patient Access staff are responsible for assigning accurate MRNs, completing medical necessity / compliance checks, providing proper patient instructions, collecting insurance information, receiving and processing physician orders, and utilizing an overlay tool while providing excellent customer service as measured by Press Ganey.
  • Operate the telephone switchboard to relay incoming, outgoing, and inter-office calls as applicable.
  • Adhere to policies and provide excellent customer service with appropriate compassion.
  • Hold accountable for point of service goals as assigned.
  • Use quality auditing and reporting systems to ensure accounts are corrected, conduct audits, and provide statistical data to Patient Access leadership.
  • Pre-register patient accounts prior to patient visits, including inbound/outbound calling to obtain demographic, insurance, and other patient information, and manage patient financial liabilities including collections and payment plans.
  • Explain general consent for treatment forms, obtain signatures, distribute patient education documents and consent forms for services.
  • Review eligibility responses, select applicable insurance plan code, enter benefit data to support POS and billing processes for clean claim rate.
  • Accurately screen medical necessity using ABN software to inform Medicare patients of potential non-payment and distribute ABN as appropriate, documenting other required forms.
Qualifications
  • 1+ years of customer service experience.
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • CRCR certification required within 9 months of hire (company paid).
