** Position Summary
** The Per Diem Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) provides assessment and therapeutic services to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD), focusing on communication, cognitive-communication, augmentative and alternative communication (AAC), and swallowing disorders. The SLP develops individualized treatment plans and collaborates with caregivers and interdisciplinary teams to improve functional outcomes and quality of life.
** Position Scope
** Responsible for evaluating, treating, and monitoring individuals with speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing needs in home and community-based settings.
** Key Responsibilities
*** Conduct speech, language, cognitive-communication, swallowing, and AAC evaluations and reassessments.
* Develop, implement, and update individualized treatment plans and goals.
* Provide evidence-based speech-language therapy, including communication, AAC, feeding, and swallowing interventions.
* Monitor progress and modify treatment plans as needed.
* Collaborate with caregivers, families, and interdisciplinary team members to support coordinated care.
* Provide training and consultation on communication, AAC, feeding, and swallowing strategies.
* Maintain accurate and timely documentation and ensure compliance with all applicable regulations and organizational requirements.
* Attend required meetings and trainings and participate in quality improvement activities.
** Regulatory Frameworks
** Complies with state licensure requirements, ASHA standards, HIPAA, Medicaid requirements (where applicable), and organizational policies.
** Confidentiality
* * Maintains confidentiality of all individual and organizational information in accordance with HIPAA and applicable privacy laws.
** Documentation Requirements
** Maintains accurate evaluations, treatment plans, progress notes, and other required clinical documentation within established timelines.
** Certifications
* * Required* Current and valid state licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist.
* Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
** Education
* * Required* Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
** Experience
* * Preferred* Experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD).
* Experience in home or community-based settings.
* Experience with AAC and dysphagia management.
** Technical Skills
*** Knowledge of speech, language, communication, and swallowing disorders.
* Ability to implement AAC systems and individualized treatment plans.
* Strong documentation, organizational, and communication skills .
** Languages
* * Strong verbal and written communication skills required. Ability to effectively communicate with individuals, families, caregivers, and interdisciplinary teams.
** Driver License
** Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required. Must meet organizational driving and insurance requirements.
