Position: County Mental Health Program Specialist 1 (Local Government) Planning & Development

THE POSITION

DESCRIPTION OF WORK

This position supports the administration and coordination of adult and transition age mental health programs within Washington County. It focuses on program monitoring, evaluation, quality assurance, and collaboration with service providers. As a County Mental Health Program Specialist 1, Planning & Development, you will perform the following duties:

  • Compliance Monitoring:
    Monitor service providers for adherence to federal, state, and local mandates and guidelines
  • Service Oversight:
    Oversee assigned services and address needs as they arise
  • Documentation Management:
    Create reports and maintain records related to assigned duties
  • Committee Participation:
    Represent the program on designated committees and support related activities
  • Incident Management:
    Assist with incident documentation and follow up discussions with providers
  • Community Engagement:
    Attend trainings and outreach events to maintain knowledge and support program goals
Work Schedule and Additional Information
  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch.
  • Telework:
    You will not have the option to telework in this position.

Required Experience, Training & EligibilityQUALIFICATIONSMinimum Experience and Training Requirements
  • Two years of professional level experience in the field of mental health; and a bachelor's degree; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Legal Requirements
  • You must pass a background investigation.
  • A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination and a drug screening.
  • This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
    • Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
