Job SummaryA Bellman for Skytop Lodge is a first point of contact for our guests. Responsible for greeting guests, opening doors, transporting guest luggage, and assisting other departments when needed.
Reports ToBell Captain
Primary Duties and FunctionsLuggage carts and guest items.
Physical DemandsMust have the ability to work at tasks that require walking, lifting and carrying. Must be able to lift 75 pounds. Job requires driving. Mobility is essential for this position.
Working EnvironmentWork takes place primarily inside of the hotel, although outside work may be required. Work schedule includes nights, weekends, and holidays. Must have open availability. Must have the ability to work in both hot and cold climate, sometimes extreme.
Hazards EncounteredTypical hazards associated with physical work, including lifting, carrying and bending and exposure to various weather conditions, hot, cold, ice, sleet, snow, rain etc.
Requirements Skills RequiredAbility to read, write and follow written and verbal instructions in English. Must have good customer relations skills, good communication skills, and be service oriented.
Educational RequirementsAbility to read, write, speak and understand the English language.
Prior ExperiencePrior Bell Person or Door Attendant experience is helpful but training is provided.
Specific Knowledge RequirementsAfter training, have knowledge of the hotel layout and grounds, surrounding communities and departmental procedures.
Personality RequirementsMust be friendly, hospitable, courteous, service oriented, trustworthy, reliable, flexible and self-motivated.
Additional RequirementsMust possess a valid driver's license and be over 18 years of age.
