The BI Developer III is responsible for leading and developing complex data model designs for business intelligence tools. This role mentors colleagues and translates customer requests into technical requirements, conducts hands-on analysis, and ensures deliverables are met. You will work with operational teams on reporting/dashboard solutions and analyses that meet customer needs. This position leads projects to enable process improvement, new product adoption, and other enhancements, and collaborates with internal clients to research and identify operational business requirements in detail to support data or reporting solutions.

Role qualifications- Bachelor’s degree (preferably Information Systems, Computer Science, Statistics, Business Management, or equivalent Certifications)
- 5+ years of related experience scripting and data manipulation languages such as SQL and Python
- 5+ years of experience and proficiency in automating reporting and building visualizations with BI tools (IBM Cognos, AWS Quick Sight, Power BI, Tableau, or similar); preference to Quick Sight and Power BI
- 3+ years of data modeling within a business intelligence tool
- Proficiency in relational databases; design, structure, data associations, and query language
- Experience with root cause analysis and correcting data issues reported by customers or exceptions reports
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to navigate technical and non-technical challenges
- Critical thinking to analyze information and communicate results clearly
- Experience in cross-examination of multiple data sources to provide actionable insights
- Ability to develop strong relationships with management and team, lead project work with minimal direction, and maintain composure in a fast-paced environment
- Plan work, set direction, and coordinate tasks in a multi-disciplinary environment; triage issues and debug data
- Ability to present findings orally, in writing, and graphically
- Mentoring junior developers and data analysts

- Experience manipulating and analyzing large-scale health administrative claims and related data
- Experience with healthcare data such as X12, CPT/HCPCS, ICD-10
- AWS experience including Quick Sight, Redshift, S3, Airflow
- Data product development experience such as enterprise or SaaS dashboards
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to define project scope, requirements, and timeline
- Analyze healthcare data including procedures, conditions, and provider practices
- Apply statistical, predictive modeling, or data mining techniques to develop analytical solutions
- Create complex but user-friendly data models for dashboards and reports
- Work with engineering to enhance data models, improve ETL methodologies, and optimize cloud performance
- Create interactive BI dashboards and visualizations
- Improve data cleaning and curation methodologies to ensure accurate inputs for analysis and modeling
- Identify data abnormalities and root causes, propose mitigations, and coordinate with data stewards for long-term solutions
- Explain the impact of data and methodology changes to technical and non-technical audiences
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and design new workflows
- Coach and mentor team members; support growth and quality improvements
