DESCRIPTIONOF WORK
As an Information Technology Generalist 2, you will help maintain information technology equipment and systems across various sites while supporting users and technology teams. You will play a key role in keeping devices, networks, and software up-to-date and functioning properly.
- Equipment Relocation:
Move, reinstall, and coordinate services for information technology hardware across locations - User Coordination:
Schedule repair work and communicate service needs with site contacts - Construction Support:
Serve as the IT point of contact for new building projects and coordinate with stakeholders - Technology Implementation:
Research and implement new technology initiatives to support organizational needs - Cabling Work:
Run, terminate, and test category cabling for network connectivity - System Maintenance:
Install, update, and maintain hardware, software, and operating systems while troubleshooting issues - Process Compliance:
Ensure proper use and management of ITIL processes in daily work - Activity Reporting:
Manage and document all work activities and progress

- Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday–Friday, with a 30‑minute lunch

Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin at the starting annual salary of $67,736.00 (before taxes)
- One year as an Information Technology Generalist 1, Applications Developer 1, or Network Specialist 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title)
- Four years of information technology experience that includes one year of technical information technology experience in applications development or applications maintenance, network operation or network maintenance, web site development or web site design, or other information technology support/administration services
- Two years of information technology experience that includes one year of technical information technology experience in applications development or applications maintenance, network operation or network maintenance, web site development or web site design, or other information technology support/administration services, and an associate’s degree in any information technology field
- A bachelor’s degree in any information technology field
- An equivalent combination of experience and training
- Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within 3 months of graduating with a qualifying degree

- You must be able to perform essential job functions
- You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements
- A conditional offer of employment may be contingent upon successful completion of a Pennsylvania State Police background check
