Job Summary

The Director of Vulnerability Management takes full accountability for running the vulnerability management function for Comcast enterprise. The role involves maintenance of technology, processes, and procedures related to vulnerability management, providing a platform that enables the enterprise to understand and measure its success against the risk ranking of vulnerabilities. The director must confidently present complex security issues and risk scenarios to executive leadership, focus on reporting and metrics to drive transparency and accountability, and build strong, collaborative relationships with business stakeholders.

They also lead very large and complex vulnerability management implementations across a diverse enterprise environment.

Core Responsibilities
  • Lead projects, or delegate and supervise project leaders, for security initiatives involving hardware and application systems.
  • Be accountable for scanning operations, data and metrics, and for leading projects in the overall VM landscape.
  • Maintain, configure, and operate the vulnerability management platforms to optimal levels.
  • Focus on reporting and metrics to ensure risk is constantly addressed and programs continuously improve the security posture from a vulnerability management perspective.
  • Serve as a strong and confident people leader aligned with Comcast values, coaching, mentoring, and growing the team.
  • Work in close alignment with internal Security Development Lifecycle (SDL) coaches and security leads to drive down vulnerabilities across the enterprise.
  • Collaborate with other Information Technology departments and key business areas to ensure information security requirements are defined, documented, tested, and delivered as part of project deliverables.
  • Perform sophisticated analytical tasks to assess risk and determine strategies required to resolve issues, technical security problems, or mitigate risk.
  • Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts.
  • Select, develop, and evaluate personnel to ensure efficient operations within the department.
Required Skills
  • 6-8 years of experience leading, mentoring, and growing high‑performing teams within the vulnerability management domain.
  • Proven experience managing vulnerability management programs at enterprise scale.
  • Ability to respond quickly to emerging vulnerabilities and implement immediate remediation measures.
  • Comfortable operating under high‑pressure conditions with competing priorities.
  • Strong technical expertise in vulnerability management platforms and scanning technologies.
  • Executive presence with the ability to engage and influence senior leadership effectively.
  • Expertise in reporting and metrics to drive accountability and transparency.
  • Strong problem‑solving and analytical skills to assess risk and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Ability to lead complex projects and collaborate across multiple business units.

Education

Relevant Work Experience
