Data Engineer

Position Summary

We are seeking a skilled Data Engineer to support enterprise data and analytics initiatives within a telecommunications environment. This role will focus on developing and optimizing data pipelines, working with large-scale datasets, and building high-performing reporting and analytics solutions using Vertica, Micro Strategy, and cloud technologies.

The ideal candidate will have strong SQL expertise, experience with data visualization and reporting tools, and the ability to translate complex technical data into meaningful business insights.

• Write, optimize, and tune SQL queries within Vertica environments
• Work with large-scale datasets to support enterprise analytics and reporting initiatives
• Develop and maintain scalable data pipelines using cloud-based platforms
• Utilize Micro Strategy tools and concepts, including attributes, facts, and hierarchies
• Create and optimize Micro Strategy reports for performance, scalability, and usability
• Translate complex technical outputs into clear visualizations, dashboards, and business summaries
• Support reporting, analytics, and business intelligence initiatives across cross-functional teams
  
  Troubleshoot and improve performance of reporting and data processing solutions
• Collaborate with technical and business stakeholders to deliver actionable data insights

• Strong experience writing and optimizing SQL queries in Vertica
• Experience working with large enterprise datasets and data processing workflows
• Knowledge of Micro Strategy fundamentals, including attributes, facts, and hierarchies
• Experience building and supporting cloud-based data pipelines
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to communicate technical findings in a clear and business-friendly manner

• Experience with in telecommunications or enterprise-scale environments
• Knowledge of reporting optimization and business intelligence best practices
• Ability to work collaboratively in fast-paced, cross-functional teams
• Experience supporting scalable analytics and reporting architectures

• Hybrid role based in Philadelphia, PA
• 7-month contract opportunity
