VP, Head of Technology

Reporting to the Chief Information Officer, the VP, Head of Technology is a senior leader responsible for aligning technology strategy with the organization’s long‑term goals while overseeing enterprise infrastructure, cloud services, software development, and IT operations. The role includes direct accountability for development and quality assurance functions, ensuring the delivery of secure, scalable, and high‑performing technology solutions.

• Develop and communicate a clear technology vision, collaborating with senior leadership to align initiatives with strategic objectives.
• Oversee the maintenance, optimization, and enhancement of the credit union’s technology infrastructure, including cloud services, servers, connectivity, and hardware.
• Provide strategic direction and oversight of the software development lifecycle, from planning and design through testing and deployment.
• Lead the development, implementation, and management of business applications and operational systems to meet departmental needs and improve overall efficiency.
• Protect data and systems, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and mitigating risks through cybersecurity and risk management practices.
• Lead and develop technology and operations teams, fostering a culture of innovation, continuous improvement, and professional growth.
• Mentor and develop high‑performing teams across infrastructure, operations, data analytics, and development.
• Oversee technology budgets, resource forecasting, and vendor negotiations to optimize investments.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Required:
  
  Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related discipline.
• 15+ years of progressive experience in technology leadership, including delivery and operation of large‑scale enterprise technology environments in the financial industry.
• 10+ years of senior management experience demonstrating leadership of multiple large, complex technology programs.
• Accountability for technology strategy, architecture, development, and delivery.
• Proven success driving innovation, modernization, and digital transformation.
• Strong strategic judgment, executive stakeholder management, and resource leadership.
• Ability to lead multidisciplinary high‑performing teams and deliver scalable, secure solutions to complex business challenges.
• Preferred: MBA or Master’s degree in Information Technology or a comparable field.
• Preferred experience in banking or financial institutions and a track record of setting strategic direction as VP or equivalent level.
• Relevant certifications: ITIL V3/V4, A+, Network+, CISSP, CISM, GIAC.

Monday – Friday, 8:00am – 4:30pm; minimum four days onsite per week or as needed.
