As a member of the F5 Documentation team, your focus will be on developing and maintaining documentation for the F5 Application Delivery and Security Platform.

Technical writers at F5 are responsible for designing, developing, publishing, and maintaining technical content that supports customers in using F5 products and services. We partner with product managers, engineers, UX designers, and other stakeholders to build a deep understanding of customer needs and advocate for them in design and development discussions. Technical writers uniquely position themselves to see the big picture and connect the dots between features, telling a complete story about how and why to use a product.

Responsibilities
  • Manage technical documentation projects from design to release, working with stakeholders to identify, scope, and prioritize deliverables and release time frames.
  • Leverage cross‑functional relationships with key stakeholders to understand business needs, define problems, and ensure document development aligns with business objectives and priorities.
  • Collaborate with product teams to gather requirements and provide input on user interface design, experience, and documentation integration.
  • Partner with engineering, product, UX design, quality assurance, and customer success to create content that supports F5 products.
  • Organize and facilitate the content review process.
  • Review and edit technical documentation for accuracy, completeness, and adherence to style guidelines, ensuring content meets quality standards and requirements.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert in technical writing principles, methodologies, and tools, advising on best practices and standards.
  • Use Git to manage source code, give and receive peer code reviews, and participate in team efforts such as style guide development, content strategy, and audits.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Technical Communications, Writing, English, or a related area, or equivalent experience.
  • At least three years of technical writing experience.
  • Strong communication skills; ability to distill extremely technical concepts into engaging, empathetic, and easy‑to‑understand documentation.
  • Experience working independently in a geographically distributed team.
  • Excellent teamwork skills and a desire to help others grow.
  • Technical requirements: experience with Linux systems and the command line; experience with container technologies using Docker and Kubernetes; understanding of application delivery networking, service provider networking, web technologies (HTTP, REST, JSON); experience with cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, GCP, VMware vSphere).
