Responsibilities
  • Your first responsibility is to learn and understand Lutron's business. You will combine that knowledge with your sound judgment and analytical skills to:
  • Provide legal research and counsel on a broad range of compliance topics including Data Privacy, Sustainability, Product, Packaging, Trade, Certifications, and others. This will involve working directly with cross-functional teams, experts, and leaders from across the company including those in engineering, marketing, sales, and operations.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate a broad range of commercial agreements. This will include both sell-side and buy-side supply and services agreements, SaaS and other tech transaction agreements, and more. You will also help build and maintain our templates, playbooks and other resources.
  • Help develop and deliver relevant, engaging and practical trainings for Lutron employees at all levels of seniority.
  • Support IP and Litigation teams on an as needed basis.
  • Help build a scalable set of legal processes and operations to increase team efficiency and reduce repetitive work to support Company growth.

Qualifications
  • Intellectual curiosity and appetite for mentorship - whether from senior attorneys, company leaders, or experts in non-legal fields.
    No prior expertise in Compliance or Commercial law required but a willingness to learn is a must!
  • 35 years of legal experience. Experience at a top-tier national or international law firm preferred.
  • J.D. from an accredited law school and admission to at least one U.S. state bar. J.D. from a top-tier law school preferred.
  • Proven analytical, negotiation, and communication skills. You must be able to synthesize complex facts and legal issues into short, business-oriented recommendations for non-legal stakeholders.
  • Excellent research abilities with attention to precedent, detail, and practical application.
  • Experience with companies in technology and/or manufacturing is a plus.
  • Demonstrated interest in technology (such as undergraduate major or minor in a STEM field) preferred but not required.
  • Reliable, collaborative, and able to manage competing priorities.
