Position Title: Production Manager

Position

Reports To:

Vice President of Operations

Position Summary:

The Production Manager is responsible for leading all aspects of the production process, ensuring safety, quality, efficiency and cost control initiatives in alignment with Furmano Foods mission and values. This position requires a servant leader with strong management skills to oversee daily production operations, drive continuous improvement initiatives, and foster a culture of excellence.

· Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Food Science, or a related field; or a minimum of 5 years’ experience in food manufacturing leadership.

· Better Process Controls Certification preferred.

· Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma Certification is a plus.

Experience / Qualifications:

· Proven experience as a Production Manager in the food industry.

· Strong knowledge of production processes, quality control, and regulatory compliance (FDA, USDA, OSHA, GMPs).

· Experience with continuous improvement methodologies.

· Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

· Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

· Familiarity with food safety regulations and quality management systems.

Skills / Abilities:

· Strong leadership and team-building skills.

· Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.

· Ability to multi-task and adapt to a fast-paced environment.

· Proficiency in Microsoft Office and manufacturing software.

· Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Physical Demands:

· Good physical and mental well-being, with the ability to stand, walk, and supervise production activities for prolonged durations.

· Sound judgment and a strong work ethic.

· Tolerance for a fast-paced production environment with frequent interruptions.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Food safety is the responsibility of every employee. Any issues should be brought to the immediate attention of area supervisor or manager.

1. Execute the vision and direction set by the Vice President of Operations.

2. Provide strong servant leadership to production team members.

3. Maintain a work environment that promotes safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement.

4. Oversee production processes to ensure safety, efficiency, quality, and adherence to established standards.

5. Monitor and analyze production performance metrics, implementing corrective actions as needed.

6. Ensure compliance with company policies, safety protocols, and regulatory standards (USDA, FDA, OSHA, GMPs).

7. Drive cost-saving initiatives while maintaining safety, product quality and operational efficiency.

8. Collaborate with departments such as Maintenance, Quality Assurance, and Human Resources to optimize workflow and resolve operational issues.

9. Participate in fiscal budget planning and manage production-related expenses.

10. Coordinate and support employee training programs for safety, equipment operation, and process improvements.

11. Implement and monitor preventative maintenance schedules to minimize downtime.
