Job Summary:
The Component Manufacturing Manager is responsible for overseeing the CNC machining, punching, bending and forging of copper components within a manufacturing facility. This role ensures efficient operations, high-quality output, cost control, and adherence to safety and regulatory standards. The manager leads production teams, drives continuous improvement initiatives, and collaborates with cross-functional departments to meet organizational goals.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee daily manufacturing operations for component production across multiple shifts.
- Develop and implement production schedules to meet customer demand and deadlines.
- Monitor production performance metrics (efficiency, yield, downtime) and take corrective action as needed.
- Ensure optimal utilization of labor, equipment, and materials.
- Ensure all components meet quality standards and specifications.
- Work closely with Quality Assurance teams to resolve defects and implement corrective/preventive actions.
- Lead root cause analysis for production issues and implement sustainable solutions.
- Supervise, coach, and develop manufacturing staff.
- Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
- Identify opportunities to improve throughput, reduce waste, and lower production costs.
- Implement best practices and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Ensure a safe working environment and compliance with OSHA and company safety regulations.
- Lead safety initiatives and conduct regular audits and training.
- Maintain compliance with environmental and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with Planning, Engineering, Maintenance, and Quality teams.
- Support new product introductions (NPI) and process changes.
- Coordinate with procurement to ensure material availability.
- Oversee equipment performance and coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance.
- Support capital equipment planning and upgrades.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 5–10+ years of experience in manufacturing or production environments.
- 3+ years in a leadership or supervisory role.
- Experience in CNC machining preferred
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Knowledge of continuous improvement tools.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.
- Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Primarily based on the manufacturing floor.
- May require extended hours, weekends, or shift support as needed.
