Position Overview
The Mill Technician is responsible for all aspects of the Annville grinding mill operation and overall daily functions of the lab and maintenance.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Responsible for own personal safety at all times
- Operation of bobcat to assist in various clean up efforts.
- Working rotating shifts and overtime as needed to cover operations.
- Must be able to climb, sweep, and shovel, and hand stack pallets
- Must be able to be trained in bagging and milling departments
- Maintain and grease associated equipment in each department.
- Help to plan, develop and adhere to a workable milling schedule.
- Help to limit inefficiencies within the milling operation.
- Verify the quality of products produced.
- Verify adequate spare parts and consumables for proper milling efficiency.
- Workplace inspections to be completed and properly documented.
- Responsible for quality control of products and taking samples as required.
- Follow safe work procedures including Lock-out/Tag-out procedures
- Be trained to understand and perform, as needed, all quality control sampling and testing procedures and all maintenance procedures.
- Capable of operating plant automation and reporting as well as learning Microsoft Office computer software and production reporting software.
- Maintaining clean assigned working area.
- Able and willing to work safely at heights.
- Able and willing to work safely in confined spaces.
- Other duties as assigned
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Be knowledgeable of materials and equipment needed to perform tasks.
- Previous milling experience preferred.
- Must submit to a drug screen and criminal background check
- Must be team-oriented and have a positive attitude.
- Capable of operating Mobile equipment such as front-end loaders, skid steer, etc.
- Required to be trained on MSHA and environmental requirements
- Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing with employees and management.
- Must be flexible for coverage of a 24/7 operation – potential to work weekends and back shifts and Holidays
