Utility Worker

Pay Range: $19 - $20.66/hr

• Ensure safe work environment by following all safety and ergonomic rules, including PPE, Lockout Tagout, cGMPs, OSHA, company guidelines, SOPs.
• Use basic hand tools and cleaning equipment (floor scrubbers, ultrasonic baths, bin washer, etc.) to: clean department machines and parts; operate bin washers; clear floors of skids and waste containers; sweep, scrub, wet‑mop floors; dust walls and clean windows, water coolers, sinks; strip and wax floors; perform facility cleaning.
• Operate forklift and other material‑handling equipment to move raw and WIP materials, stage product bins for shipment, inspect materials for compliance and report non‑conforming items.
• Report preventive maintenance needed for department machines to the Production Supervisor and complete assigned PM work.
• Take trash to compactor, coordinate recycling and green initiatives.
• Dispose of hazardous waste daily and document per cGMPs.
• Fill store requisitions and order/maintain department inventory supplies.
• Coordinate work with external contractors and vendors as directed by supervision.
• Assist line team members in packaging and manufacturing, including hand packing, sorting, pack outs.
• Perform cleaning tasks during plant shutdown periods.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Education:
  
  High School Diploma.
• Good written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Demonstrated ability to work safely in a production environment.
• Mathematical aptitude (addition, subtraction, division, multiplication, metric system).
• Experience in GMP or SOP environment.
• Good PC skills: e‑mail, attaching documents, electronic databases (Lotus Notes, Employee Self‑Services HRDirect, etc.).
• Ability to read, interpret, and follow work instructions (SOPs, operator manuals, work instructions).
• Technical ability measured by troubleshooting skills.
• Willing to work overtime as required based on production demands.
• Cleaning/janitorial experience (preferred).
