Production Manager, Operations Manager

MEPPI’s Switchgear Division (SWGD) is seeking an experienced and people-focused Production Supervisor to lead assembly and testing operations within assigned production areas and shifts. In this hands‑on leadership role, you will ensure quality, safety, and production requirements are consistently met while fostering a positive, engaged, and high‑performing work environment.
What You’ll Do- Supervise daily assembly and testing operations, ensuring compliance with company policies, safety standards, and customer specifications.
- Plan & assign work by developing weekly schedules and daily assignments aligned with production priorities.
- Coordinate and participate in safety, team, production, supervisor, scheduling, and engineering meetings.
- Lead and develop employees: manage staff, provide training, participate in hiring decisions, conduct performance reviews, and maintain attendance, disciplinary, vacation, accident, and quality records.
- Promote safety, ensuring technicians follow procedures and conducting timely accident investigations.
- Manage job documentation: review job folders, late releases, and MRR dispositions, and assign work to meet requirements.
- Maintain workplace organization by ensuring cleanliness, ordering, special maintenance requests, and enforcing tool control procedures.
- Drive quality excellence, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
- Support manufacturing leadership by assisting the Manufacturing Manager with departmental needs, projects, and operational challenges.
- Contribute to continuous improvement by recommending policy and procedure enhancements.
- Represent the division professionally, interacting effectively with customers, vendors, and internal departments.
- Champion policies & compliance by maintaining knowledge of MEPPI’s quality, safety, and environmental policies and communicating their impact on daily operations.
- Associate’s degree in a technical or business field.
- Minimum of 2 years of prior supervisory experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Detailed knowledge of assembly and testing techniques, processes, and methods.
- Developed technical understanding of mechanical, electrical, and electronic applications.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with emphasis on interpersonal and group presentation abilities.
- Proven ability to lead teams, manage performance, and promote positive employee relations.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
