Allegheny Surface Technology is seeking a Production Scheduler to help align customer demand, workforce capacity, and operational priorities in a fast‑paced, service‑based manufacturing environment.

This role is critical to keeping work moving. The Production Scheduler develops and manages daily and long‑range schedules that support throughput, short lead times, resource utilization, and on‑time customer commitments. Because priorities can shift quickly, this position requires someone who can work with incomplete information, anticipate constraints, make sound decisions, and communicate clearly across Sales, Production, Quality, Purchasing, and Maintenance.

The ideal candidate is analytical, organized, confident working in ERP systems, and able to influence priorities without direct supervisory authority. This is a role for someone who understands that scheduling is not just data entry—it is operational decision‑making that directly impacts people, customers, and performance.

• Develop, maintain, and adjust production schedules to maximize throughput and support on‑time delivery.
• Convert Sales Orders into Production Orders when customer material is received.
• Validate ERP data, routings, work centers, lead times, and schedule feasibility.
• Identify capacity constraints, resource conflicts, and schedule risks before they become larger issues.
• Communicate schedule changes, lead time updates, and operational impacts clearly and early.
• Work closely with Sales, Production, Quality, Purchasing, and Maintenance to create realistic and achievable plans.
• Track subcontracted work and coordinate timing from purchase order creation through return.
• Use spreadsheets, Gantt charts, ERP data, and other planning tools to model scenarios and support decisions.
• Maintain production calendars, resources, and resource groups within the ERP system.
• Support continuous improvement by identifying recurring scheduling issues, data gaps, and workflow barriers.

• 3–5 years of experience in production scheduling, workforce planning, supply chain coordination, or a related operational role.
• Strong ERP experience;
  Microsoft Dynamics experience preferred.
• Advanced Excel or spreadsheet skills, including scenario modeling, pivot tables, and data analysis.
• Ability to make sound decisions using incomplete or changing information.
• Strong understanding of routings, work centers, capacity constraints, lead times, and production flow.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence without direct authority.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Ability to manage competing priorities while maintaining accuracy and urgency.
• Experience in a high‑mix, variable‑demand, manufacturing or service‑based environment preferred.

This is a full‑time exempt position. Standard business hours generally align with normal production and business operations; however, flexibility may be required to support production schedules, multiple shifts, customer needs, and urgent operational issues.
