Industrial Cleaner 1st Shift

Job Summary

The Industrial Cleaner is responsible for cleaning, sanitizing, and maintaining manufacturing equipment and production areas to ensure a safe, efficient, and compliant operation. This position plays a critical role in supporting product quality, equipment reliability, and regulatory compliance by following established cleaning procedures, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and safety guidelines.

The Industrial Cleaner is responsible for cleaning, sanitizing, and maintaining manufacturing equipment and production areas to ensure a safe, efficient, and compliant operation. This position plays a critical role in supporting product quality, equipment reliability, and regulatory compliance by following established cleaning procedures, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and safety guidelines.

The Industrial Cleaner performs routine and deep cleaning of mixers, tanks, transfer lines, pumps, packaging equipment, and other production machinery. Responsibilities include disassembling and reassembling equipment as required, removing product residue, documenting cleaning activities, and verifying equipment cleanliness prior to production use. This role works closely with Production, Quality, and Maintenance personnel to minimize downtime and maintain operational readiness.

• Clean, sanitize, and maintain production equipment according to established procedures and schedules.
• Disassemble and reassemble equipment as required for thorough cleaning and inspection.
• Remove product residue, waste materials, and contaminants from processing and packaging equipment.
• Clean and maintain production rooms, equipment platforms, and surrounding work areas.
• Operate cleaning tools and sanitation equipment safely and effectively.
• Follow all GMP, safety, quality, and environmental requirements.
• Safely handle cleaning chemicals and sanitation agents in accordance with SDS and company procedures.
• Complete cleaning records, logs, and related documentation accurately.
• Inspect equipment for cleanliness and report any deficiencies, damage, or maintenance concerns.
• Support line changeovers and production startup activities as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous experience in manufacturing, sanitation, industrial cleaning, or a related field preferred.
• Ability to follow written procedures and complete required documentation.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness and quality standards.
• Ability to work safely around manufacturing equipment and cleaning chemicals.
• Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds and performing physical tasks including standing, walking, bending, climbing, and repetitive motions throughout the shift.

This position works primarily in a manufacturing environment and may be exposed to noise, moving machinery, cleaning chemicals, varying temperatures, and wet conditions. Personal protective equipment (PPE) is required and must be worn in accordance with company policies.
