The Machine Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient setup, operation, and monitoring of production equipment to meet quality, productivity, and safety standards. This role plays a critical part in ensuring customer specifications are met while maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Set up, operate, and monitor production equipment according to work orders and production requirements.
- Review and interpret work orders, print cards, and product specifications to ensure accurate production.
- Maintain production schedules and maximize machine efficiency and output.
- Perform quality checks throughout the production process and ensure all quality standards are met.
- Follow established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and work instructions.
- Ensure finished products are properly stacked, unitized, and palletized for shipment.
- Maintain a safe work environment by following all safety policies and procedures.
- Keep work areas clean and organized in accordance with housekeeping standards.
- Perform routine machine inspections and basic preventative maintenance activities.
- Communicate production, quality, safety, and equipment concerns promptly to supervisors.
- Monitor production supply levels and notify management of replenishment needs.
- Accurately complete required production, quality, safety, and equipment documentation.
- Support training efforts and assist team members as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Ability to read and understand work instructions, production documents, and safety information.
- Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to accurately read and use a ruler or tape measure.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to complete production and operational reports accurately and on time.
- Dependable attendance and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift.
- Frequent use of hands and arms to operate equipment and handle materials.
- Ability to regularly lift up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
- Ability to communicate effectively and maintain awareness of surroundings in a manufacturing environment.
